July 4Th Picnic

Updated: Aug 1, 2018

Dear Neighbors:

We had a great gathering of neighbors this afternoon for the Annual Neighborhood Picnic…celebrating the fourth of July.  68 neighbors and their friends and family had RSVP’d but we counted 75 in attendance.  Thank you to Rhonda for organizing the arrangements, to Jay and Kenda Horne and Lee Bahner for cooking loads of hamburgers and hot dogs.  Paul Dean provided a “swamp cooler” that caused a real cluster of chairs.  Paul also gave an encouraging report that since the new rules, signs and communications (see below for new neighbors) have been implemented trash pickup has dropped from an average of every 12 days to every 17 days.  THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU for BAGGING AND BREAKING DOWN so we can hold the dues for this service constant!

Thanks to Son in Law Jake Hodges and his friends Justin Quigley and our friends Jim and Jan Loftis for helping to set up….lots of games…bouncey house, croquet, bocci ball, badminton, golf, horse shoes…but again the most popular game was from Sister in Law Deena Smith…Washer throw…..While several teams won….for the second year in a row Janet and Jim Albright seemed to have a bead on the boards.

Shane & Allie Jones & kids Tripp & Isaiah

We also welcomed our newest neighbors Shane and Allie Jones who moved in Wednesday! who are full time residents and have two children Tripp and Isaiah.  They live in the former Flud home at 726 Cedar Ridge Road.

Rhonda and I enjoy hosting this event and we thank all of you who participated and hope those that had conflicts can join us next year.  Have a wonderful 4th of July where we come together in our communities to celebrate the splendor of our country.  All the best.

David Walters
